Top Insights To Note When Using Social Media

Getting everything real and transparent are two important things you should take note when using social media. As you do business online, you should not hide anything. Try your best not to show yourself, your brand or SEO company as someone or something that can do things impossible for you to keep.

You and I know if we come up against something that just feels like it is advertising or marketing. We know, we can sniff that sort of thing out a mile away. We can tell if someone’s being dodgy or we can tell if someone’s not who they say they are or whatever. You can sniff it out. We’re not stupid, so make sure that you are a hundred percent transparent, a hundred percent honest and make sure that is the way you operate with your SEO services.

Remember that whatever you do or post in the social space can affect your brand or company negatively. All these things cannot be removed from your YouTube or Twitter account. Let us say searchers will type in your name or the word “scam”, they will be able to pull up no so good resources about you. This only shows how important it is for you to actively manage your brand yourself.

How do I keep on top of everything that is going on? I don’t know which of you follow me on Twitter or if you’re friends with me on Facebook but as I’m reading different content, I’m distributing it straight out. What I want you to do is, you sit there and say, in my own particular situation how can I apply this to what it is that I’m doing to whatever level?

Once I have decided on using social media, I got myself signed up for Google Reader. It is something that you can subscribe to online. It is a means for you to read the Real Simple Syndication or commonly known as RSS feed. In here, you can acquire a direct feed from a website into one place. The good thing here is you will be able to keep an eye on your top ten competitors. You will see if they have any SEO blog. Moving forward, you can sign up to their blogs and with a few searches you can keep track of what they are doing.

You basically take this XML feed, it’s just a feed, you copy and paste straight into Google Reader and then as they update their websites, you’ve got one place you can go to and you can read about what is news, what’s going on in your particular industry. I always log everything in through Gmail.

Having Google Reader while using social media can get you to having other subscriptions here. Copy and paste the feed in of whatever the RSS feed is of the particular website. To those who do not know what an RSS feed is, look for the tiny orange button that appears on the website you are in. you just need to copy the link and paste it here under your subscription.
